Blow off steam, canalize your fury by relieving stress by exercise

After watching one of those old school boxing movies where we see main character blowing off steam by punching the bag, we can see the power of relieving stress by exercise. Endorphins relieve stress because they are the body’s naturally produced drug of choice, giving you a sense of well being in the form of a naturally occurring high. If you’re stressed after arriving from home at work, perform some sort of high intensity aerobic exercise and tap into your inner pharmaceutical relief center.

Make something really important, let the illusion dissipate

If you submit yourself to some sort of regular exercise; you’ll begin to notice that stress disappears, not only because of endorphins, but because of psychological reasons as well. That is because your mind begins to appreciate what really matters in life: having a healthy and fit body that you, yourself have been developing though arduous exercise. Relieving stress is just a bonus, once you cultivate respect for your body, small petty things such as deadlines or board meetings will loose their importance. After all, the stressing power of these things come as a result of amplifying their importance more than what’s real. Get yourself doing something more important and see how good you feel.
